STORY BEHIND
As a child growing up in a poor environment in Refugee camps.
Our Former Sunday School Children Teacher Thomas Roger witnessed differences between himself, his siblings, and other children in the neighborhood. Women struggling the most.
He started working at child protection agency in Tanzania.
As a young man he gets inspired to help his community with the issue of their kids.
later again when he was resettled in USA he involved in being a Community Advisor through Prevention Research Center at Georgia State University Clarkston Campus for the sake of connecting his community with helpful resources that can help the refugee Parents.
He began an outreach programs of helping expecting mothers getting diapers through Bethany Agency in Atlanta but that was limited events.
due to higher demands of his community women, he requested and got a chance for some of women to be helped by Waymaker women ministry at west Marietta United Methodist Church.
Thomas Roger shared with the Church how he is being asked by many women in need and encountered more being in need once they got new babies and most of them are the low-income families women that are struggling to find resources and supplies
Thomas Roger decided to get this initiative down together with his local Swahili Evangelical Refugee Church in Atlanta at least helping 10 to 15 women after every 3 months through baby showers.
Thomas Roger has also developed his skillset in event planning for group baby showers. First, as he coordinated supply packages (baby items) for young expecting mothers. Then, Thomas took all his knowledge and training and began coordinating baby shower events.
Thomas Roger is Looking to partner with any organization, any individual to be sponsoring this events in order to be happening every 3 months.
Hope together with Thomas will impact the refugees women in need.
Thank you in Advance.
